Islands of Adventure
Universal's Islands of Adventure was the studio's second theme park to open in Orlando, Florida. The theme of the park, as the name implies, is exploration and adventure.
Guests begin their adventure from an inland sea main port and from there they can then journey to and explore one of the park's five islands.
Each area (island) of the park is located around the central lagoon and follows on the idea of exploration but has it's own unique theme giving the impression that every area is a different destination in the journey.
Port of Entry
Exactly as the name says, this is the park's main entrance. Themed in the style of an Arabian Bazaar the Port of Entry features many shops and restaurants including a full service restaurant, the Confisco Grille.
Guest relations is located here as well as an attraction information board near the lagoon.
Marvel Super Hero Island
All of the attractions in this area are based around Marvel super heros and comics.
Rides here include the Incredible Hulk Coaster, The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, Doctor Doom's Fearfall and Storm Force Accelatron.
Toon Lagoon
Catering for both the young and old, Toon Lagoon is based on the cartoon characters of King Features Syndicate and Jay Ward.
The attractions here are mainly water based rides and include Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw falls and Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat barges. Also located here is Me Ship, the Olive, a kids playground built in Popeye's ship.
Jurassic Park
Walk straight into Jurassic Park and encounter dinosaurs in this themed area based on the movie. The island features attractions such as Jurassic Park Discovery Center, a replica of the visitor center from the film where guests can interact with various exhibits and Camp Jurassic, a kids playground.
Also, guests can ride the Jurassic Park River Adventure and the Pterandon Flyers.
The Lost Continent
Themed primarily on Myths and legends this area is divided into Medieval Europe, ancient Arabia and ancient Greece.
As well as live action and special effects shows including The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad and Poseidon's Fury there is also the Duelling Dragons roller coaster and the Flying Unicorn junior coaster.
The park's second full service restaurant, Mythos, is also located here.
Seuss Landing
Based on the beloved works of the author Dr. Suess this island is mainly geared towards children. The decor of this area is faithful to the artwork of the books complete with wobbly lines and bright colors.
attractions in Suess Landing include Caro-Seass-el (carousel), The Cat in the Hat ride, If I Ran the Zoo play zone, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish and The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride.
