Disney's Animal Kingdom

Disney's Animal Kingdom (Disney World's largest park) is primarily centered around wildlife conservation.

Animal Kingdom is unique in that it serves as both a theme park and a zoo housing many, varying animals from all over the world and cleverly blending the two ideas together.

The attractions in this park are geared towards discovery, adventure and wildlife and showcase and explore not only animals of today but also extinct animals from the distant past.

Like the other Disney parks Animal Kingdom is also divided into themed areas.

Oasis

This is the park's entrance area and provides walkways to Discovery island which go past various animal habitats.

Discovery Island

This is the park's main area located in the center and consists of paths that lead to all the park's other lands. Animal Kingdom's centerpiece, The Tree of Life is located here and underneath that is the 3d film It's Tough to be a Bug presented by Flik from "A Bug's Life".

Camp Minnie-Mickey

In this area you can watch the musical show Festival of the Lion King and also meet many Disney characters at one of four greeting spots.

Africa

A replica of an African village this area is home to the Kilimanjaro Safaris, where you can embark on a safari through an authentic looking African savhanna populated by real giraffes, hippos, elephants, rhinoceroses, lions and other animals.

Here also is the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail where the guests take a nature walk through an African valley noting many birds and animals along the way and ending with an encounter with a troop of gorillas.

Asia

A replica of an Asian village, here guests can get soaked on the Kali River Rapids, walk through the Asian jungle in the Maharajah Jungle Trek or encounter the Yeti on Mount Everest on the Expedition Everest roller coaster.

DinoLand U.S.A.

Dedicated to the extinct creatures of the past, in this area lets guests explore the Boneyard, a play maze filed with dino fossils, walk amidst plants and animals that lived with the dinosaurs on the Cretaceous Trail or go back in time to rescue a stray dinosaur before the destructive asteroid hits on the thrilling and fast paced Dinosaur ride.
