Disneys Hollywood Studios is Walt Disney Worlds homage to the Hollywood of the 1930s and 1940s.

The whole park is constructed to resemble a working movie studios and as you wander around you do get the feeling of walking through movie set after movie set. Even most of the attractions at Disneys Hollywood Studios are constucted to give you the impression of actually taking part in a movie with the buildings and queing areas replicating soundstages.

Similar to The Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios is laid out into themed areas that blend together to create that motion picture studio environment.

Hollywood Boulevard

Walking through the main gates is like walking straight into Hollywood 1930s - 1940s era. As you walk down the main street leading into the park you'll see that either side is adorned with shops selling Disney and film merchandise and, if you're lucky, you might catch one of the random live street performances that take place throughout the day (a real treat).

At the end of Hollywood Boulevard is a replica of Hollywoods Chinese Theatre containing The Great Movie Ride, an entertaining ride that will take you through the scenes of famous, classic movies such as Casablanca, The Wizard of Oz, Tarzan, Mary Poppins and Indiana Jones.

Echo Lake

After Hollywood Boulevard is Echo Lake, a small lagoon surrounded by many attractions such as Star Tours, a Star Wars simulator ride, Jedi Training Academy, the brilliant Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! and Sounds Dangerous, a 3-D audio presentation featuring comedian Drew Carey.

Streets of America

This area is made up of authentic movie street sets replicating the streets of New York, San Francisco and Chicago. The attractions here include the must see Jim Hensons Muppet Vision 3D, the Studio Backlot Tour, the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show and Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure.

Animation Courtyard

With it's entrace marked by a square studion arch this area of the park is dedicated to it's active production studios and serves as a starting point for the studio tours and attractions such as Walt Disney: One Mans Dream, exploring the life and legacy of Walt Disney and The Magic of Disney Animation, examining the development process of an animated character. Also located in Animation Courtyard is the ingeniouslive performance show The Voyage of The Little Mermaid.

Sunset Boulevard

Another replication of Hollywood, this area contains Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the definately not to be missed Fantasmic nighttime show.
